The recently released High-Impact Instruction built around the Big Four instructional categories of Content Planning, Formative Assessment, Instruction, and Community Building is both a starting point and a complement to SIM instructional practices. In this presentation, participants will receive an overview of the High-Impact Instructional strategies, explore how SIM instructional practices, (especially Content Enhancement Routines and Community Building Routines) can be used to deepen high-impact teaching. We will also explore how the Big Four framework and practices can be used to organize a school or district's approach to professional learning.
