Post-Institute LS Apprenticeship Expectations
With guidance from an institute instructor(s) and support from a SIM Mentor, apprentices will complete a set of tasks to show skills and competencies embodied in a SIM Professional Developer. These tasks typically take 1-2 years to complete. We highly encourage apprentices to complete these requirements within two years to maintain momentum in the process. Evidence from completion of these tasks will be presented as a portfolio on www.BadgeList.com (Links to an external site.) under the SIM Learning Strategies Professional Developer badge.

Post-Institute LS Apprenticeship Expectation Table (doc) The "Task for Portfolio" column represents recommendations for how the candidate can demonstrate competencies and skills. The “Differentiation” column provides examples of how those tasks can be adjusted or modified for candidates with different needs. Any differentiation adjustments to the tasks are determined collaboratively with and will be approved by the KUCRL PDL facilitating the process. The "Completed and Comments" can be used for note-taking by both the PDL and SIM Mentor to document progress. |

Purpose
To prepare potential professional developers in SIM™ Learning Strategies to answer difficult questions that are often asked at SIM™ professional development sessions.
Directions
Select 15 questions to answer. Please be brief and complete in your responses. The answers to these questions are provided at professional development sessions for SIM™ potential professional developers or may be found in the required readings or instructor’s manuals for individual strategies. As you respond to the questions, note the article or source of your response for your own use later.
Note that apprentices have helped each other answer these questions as part of the institute experience, and they will finish their FAQ assignment on their own during their apprenticeship.
